The April release for Brightspace will include new user interface updates for the Media Library, aligning it wiht the look and feel of other Brightspace tools. The updated interface will allow for more efficient media management across multiple courses and content objects.
The updated Media Library will streamline the look and feel by consolidating the left panel into two new buttons, "Add Assets" and "Recycle Bin". This update is to help enhance the look and feel of the Media Library to match other tools in Brightspace.
The "Add Assets" button will consolidate the "Upload File" and "Create Recording" buttons into one new interface.
The "Recycle Bin" button will move the link to the top right of the Media Library.
When you click the "Add Assets" button, you will be taken to the new Add Assets screen. This screen will allow you to create a video or audio recording, allowing you to be more deliberate with what type of media you wish to record. This screen also adds the functionality of the old "Upload File" button, allowing you to upload or drag and drop multiple video/audio files to upload to your Media Library.
When you click the "Recycle Bin" button, you will see all media files deleted from your Media Library. The updated look will now include a new deletion countdown next to each item displaying how many days until an item is permanently deleted. All deleted items will stay in the recycle bin for 90 days before being permanently deleted.
To access the Media Library in your course, go to More Tools in the navigation bar and select Media Library.
To access the Media Library outside of your course, select the Admin Tools button (gear icon) in the top right of Brightspace next to your profile, and then click Media Library.

Use the Seek tool (up arrow icon) to navigate to a point in the video, add a name for the chapter in the "Chapter Title" field, and click the "Add" button (+ button) to add it to the Table of Contents.
Add Closed Captions: Select the Closed Captions tab to generate captions for your video. Click the "Auto-Generate" button and then "Auto-Generate" again to begin adding captions. Please note that you will need to wait for the captioning process to finish before you can continue editing your video.

Cut Sections: Select the "Cut" tool (scissor icon) to select a section between marks on the timeline. Once selected, this section will not be available to viewers.
Click "Finish" when you have completed all of your edits
