• Some Chrome extensions are known to cause potential issues with Honorlock. One, in particular, is Proctorio. Please complete the following instructions to verify that you do not have any extension conflicts with Honorlock:

  • Please open a new tab and enter the following in your web address bar: chrome://extensions

  • Disable all other extensions besides Honorlock.

  • Please refresh your exam page and launch proctoring again.

• If you are being prompted for a quiz password to enter your Brightspace quiz, please make sure you are using Chrome and have the extension installed. The system should not ask you for a password. 

• Unable to share your screen and use Mac OS 10.15 (Catalina) or higher you will need to enable Screen Recording for Google Chrome to allow apps to record the contents of your screen. This toolbar will give students access to the following:

• Calculator  - This will open or close the Honorlock basic or scientific calculator if made available by the instructor. You may reposition the calculator by dragging the blue bar at the top of the calculator. Selecting the compression icon will reduce the size of the calculator, and selecting the expansion icon will revert the calculator to its original size.

• Exam Guidelines & Allowed Websites - This will open a sidebar containing the instructor's exam guidelines and any authorized URLs will be provided here. Selecting any links in the sidebar will open the URL in a new tab.

• Proctor Window - Selecting this button will bring your Honorlock Proctoring Window to the front of the screen. This may be useful if the window is hidden or you need to reposition the webcam to stay in view.

• Hide Toolbar option - This will collapse the toolbar. This feature may be useful if there is exam content behind the toolbar and would otherwise be inaccessible. While the toolbar is collapsed, you may drag the toolbar along the bottom of the exam window. 

• Honorlock Support - Students will need to select the 3 dots on the right side of the toolbar to get access to Honorlock Support Chat. They will also have a link to Honorlock's Knowledge Base.

The toolbar will be at the bottom of any Honorlock enabled exam and can be hidden or expanded at any time. In addition, an orange Exit Honorlock button will be available on the right side of the toolbar and should be selected when the exam has been submitted to end Honorlock Proctoring.

After 7/16/2021 Honorlock will require students to agree to Honorlock's Terms of Service and Data Collection before taking an exam or quiz with Honorlock enabled. This will allow Honorlock to be transparent with students so they know the data Honorlock collects and does not collect, as well as be compliant with Illinois' BIPA law. Students will need to accept and agree before continuing to take the exam as they would normally do. This prompt will appear on every exam or quiz that has Honorlock enabled.
