The New Content Experience adds new icons to help you see if a Unit has Release Conditions, Availability Dates, or is not set to be visible to learners:
If a Unit or Item has a Release Condition(s), you will see a gear icon with an eye
If a Unit or Item is not visible to learners, you will see an eye with a slash through it
If a Unit or Item has a Start Date or End Date, you will see "Starts {date}" or "Ends {date}". If the Unit or Item has both a Start and End Date, you will see "{date} - {date}"
Depending on how you set up your Unit, it could be due to a few factors. You will want to check these common settings:
Check to see if the Unit or Item is visible
There is a visibility slider at the top of the Unit or Item. Ensure that the slider is set to Visible (the slider should be to the right with a blue checkmark).
Check to see if the Unit or Item has a Start/End Date
Click the three horizontal dots in the top right of Content, between the "Create New" button and the "Previous" button
Select the "Edit" button
In the editor, expand the Availability Dates & Conditions section on the right
Ensure the Start Date, End Date, and/or Release Conditions are set up correctly for learners to see the Unit or Item
Check to see if the Unit or Item has Release Conditions
Click the three horizontal dots in the top right of Content, between the "Create New" button and the "Previous" button
Select "View Release Conditions"
Ensure that the Release Conditions are set correctly for learners to complete to release of the Unit or Item
Common issues to look out for:
Release Conditions set to items deleted or no longer being used
Release Conditions set to require All conditions are met instead of Any
Start and/or End Dates using the wrong day, month, or year
You can add Release Conditions to any Unit, Lesson, Folder, or Item. These will require learners to complete the specified conditions before the item will be available to them. Check out our Release Conditions page to learn more.
