Kousa Dogwood 

Cornus kousa 

Small tree with deciduous, simple leaves on a short trunk. In spring the trees blossom so profusely that the crowns look like large white mounds.  The fruit is wide raspberry-like rounded cluster of fused drapes with colors ranging from light pink to rose red. 

Distribution: Native to East Asia: Korea, China and Japan.  

Uses: Edible berries. The fruit is sometimes used for making wine. Attracts birds. Common plant used in landscaping of small areas.
