Beta Vulgaris 

This beet is a flatter beet which is favored by many farmers.

Seed Harvesting: Red (Hard difficulty)

Growing: White (Easy Difficulty)

Compost soil and remove all rocks, plant 4-6" apart and a half inch deep. Do not overcrowd.

At least 1 inch of water per week

This beet is favored because of its fast maturing and being a perfect fall beet.

The Egyptian Beet was a German Variety introduced in the 1800s

Pick when greens are about 3" above ground for tender beets.

 For best storage cut off greens at 2".
