Megan = Flammability will be distinctive for a specific substance. The other characteristics are not specific. You could also use density which is a physical property that would be specific to a substance.
Page 13
Regular shape Measure length X width X height.
Liquid place in a graduated cylinder and record the amount of the substance.
Irregular shaped object= place water in a graduated cylinder and record the amount of liquid. Add the irregular shaped object to the liquid and record the amount. Subtract the two and that is the volume of the object.

Mass X < Y Y has more particles
Volume X= Y They both have the same size box.
Density X < Y Y has more dots than X, so it is more dense.
Mass X > Z X has more particles
Volume X > Z X has more space.
Density X = Z The spacing between particles is the same, so the density is the same.
Mass X < W W has more particles
Volume X> W X has more space.
Density X < W W has more dots in a smaller area, so it is more dense.

1.Lead would take up the least volume.
Aluminum would take up the largest volume.
2. Lead would have the most mass
Aluminum would have the least mass.
3. Lead 11. 34 g/ cm3
Zinc 7.13 g/ cm3
Aluminum 2.70 g/ cm3
4 Zinc
5. The line should be between aluminum and zinc.

2. B sugar
3. B reaction to iodine.
4. You could calculate the density of the object and see if it matches that of an emerald.
5. Set up a ratio
100 cm3 = 13 cm3
890 g X Solve for X
OR
Find density 890 g/ 100 cm3 and then multiply that answer times 13 cm3.
33. D Because of the Law of Conservation of Mass.
