Veteran's Day Program

1.       What is the purpose of the Veteran’s Day program?

2.       Is talking during the program respectful or disrespectful to Veterans?  Explain.

3.        Is braiding hair or having your hair braided during the program respectful or disrespectful to Veterans? Explain.

4.       Is using your phone during the program respectful or disrespectful to Veterans? Explain.

5.       Is turning around and looking at people behind you during the program respectful or disrespectful to Veterans? Explain.

6.       If a Veteran looked up in the audience and saw those behaviors, would they feel respected/honored? Explain.

7.       Do you feel they would want to come back next year if they knew they would see the same behavior? Explain.

8.       People ask me why I am not on the floor because I served with several of the other Veterans.  Which other teacher talks to students about their disrespectful behavior? Explain.

9.       Why do you feel the numbers are about 1/10 of where they used to be?  Do you think it has anything to do with seeing the disrespectful behavior of students? Explain.

10.   Do you think I would rather go and enjoy the program or talk to students about their disrespectful behavior? Explain.
