Step 1: Line drawing of a koi fish
Step 2: Lino cut in progress.
Step 3: Lino cut complete
First Print
Second Print
Step 1: Trace over photo, add shadows, create black and white
Step 2: Turn paper around and trace over (inverted tracing)
Step 3: Create colour scheme to know the order of the cutting the lino. This creates less confusion and less room for mistakes.
Step 4: With the help of carbon paper, transfer the design onto the lino and shade in the parts. Do this with a permenant marker.
Step 5: Cut out the white parts (based on the colour scheme). The desired outcome of this step was to get a blue print, which would later on be the colour of my face. However, I realised that the blue prints had little parts that had a lot of white spots in them by the time i realised it was too late to redo it again.
I think to avoid this problem in the future, check with the teacher first before heading on to the next step.
Step 6: 1st printing
Use Blue (Background colour) and print your first print. (I forgot to take a picture of it before printing next colour)
Step 7: Carve out blue parts (background)
Step 8: Print Yellow (Skin colour)
(No Photo taken)
Step 9: Carve out yellow (skin colour to print black)
Step 10: Test print black
Step 11: Print black on the actual work.
