Thank you to everyone who came out on Thursday afternoon to support our student versus teacher basketball game. It was an amazing game played up until the very last minute of the game by both the teachers and the students. The students squeaked out a 48-46 victory. Thank you to all the fans and families who came out to cheer on and support everyone playing. An incredible thank you to the teachers who played so hard the entire game. A big thank you to our Student Council Advisors Ms. Siso and Ms. Kolinchak along with the entire Student Council for planning a great event. Way to go MJSONE!
Thank you to everyone who attended our second Connect and Reflect session with Mr. Perrone, both in person and virtually. We enjoyed hearing insightful updates from our counseling team Mrs. Marrota, Mr. Roman, and Mrs. Siso as well as from our Interim Superintendent, Mr. Watson. It was a pleasure to discuss the many successes at MJS and to hear the thoughtful questions and feedback from our families. Our continued partnership is essential to our growth, and we are grateful to be part of such a dedicated community.
MJS Celebration Corner will be our new section of our Weekly Reflection Newsletter. This is where we want to highlight the wonderful work and accomplishments of our students and staff that occur outside of school. This could include athletic related activities/accomplishments, music or art related activities/accomplishments or any other accomplishments.
To be featured in our MJS Celebration Corner, please send a direct email to Mr. Perrone (perronef@madisonnjps.org) with the subject line, MJS Celebration Corner. Within the email please provide a brief summary of the celebration along with any photos that highlights the celebration. We look forward to celebrating all of the great accomplishments of our MJSONE Community!

In Madison, we utilize a 1:1 Chromebook model where all students (grades 6-12) receive a district owned Chromebook to utilize during the school day and at home. While there is no cost for the use of the Chromebook, it is important that Chromebooks be maintained and handled in a responsible way. As we continue to move through the school year, we wanted to utilize this time as a reminder for our students and families about the importance of handling Chromebooks with care to prevent damage to the device. The district has expectations and protocols that are listed on the district website that we continue to follow at the building level.
We would like to highlight the specific section regarding lost and damaged chromebooks as a reminder to all parents and guardians:
In the event a Chromebook, case, or charger is lost or damaged beyond repair and deemed to be intentional, excessive, neglectful or student misuse, parents/guardians are responsible for paying the cost of replacement equipment.
Costs:
Chromebook (damaged beyond repair) - $365.00
Broken Screen - $90.00
Broken Keyboard - $70.00
Charger - $47.00
Case - $20.00
Other - Will be quoted by the Tech Department
Note: Final assessment of damage and fines are determined by the Technology Department.
Students are also responsible for the care of any loaners they use. Damage to loaners is subject to the same rules as permanently assigned Chromebooks.
In case of theft, parents/guardians are required to file a formal police report with the Madison Police Department.
Below are the direct links from the district website that pertains to Chromebook care and protocols followed for lost/damaged Chromebooks.
