The All-City Orchestra is an honors ensemble that will consist of students in 5th, 6th, and a select group of 7th graders. Students will be nominated based on musicianship, leadership, and commitment to their school music program. The selection process will take place in November. After-school rehearsals will begin in December with a concert in March.

Art club is a safe space for students who enjoy creating art. Students will get a chance to work on their personal art or learn a new technique/medium we have not covered in art class. Students will also work on painting the backdrop for the spring musical. Art club is a place where young artists can collaborate with one another and share their artwork with the school community. Do you have a special interest or skill you’d like to share with new friends? Or are you looking for a new hobby and to meet new people? Bright Minds Academy is a new club at MJS, where you are in charge of designing a hands-on activity to share. With the help Mrs. Carragher you will practice presentation skills, learn about the different abilities of others, and meet friends from new classes.

Culture Club is all about exploring culture! We learn about various celebrations and holidays, try new foods, and connect with people who can share their experiences. We share our interests and knowledge with each other - while having fun together.

Green Team is focused on educating the students on nature and the great outdoors. We like to also focus on wellness and how being outside can be very therapeutic and good for the soul. Our main focus at MJS is to maintain the MJS courtyard and do other eco-friendly, crafty, and FUN related activities. We occasionally have guest speakers from our local community attend our meetings and teach about the world beyond MJS. We are always looking for new members to join and it is not mandatory that students attend every meeting. Come when you can and have a fun and relaxing time!

The Madison Junior School Jazz Band is a performing ensemble that introduces different styles of music from that of our concert band program. The ensemble focuses on learning the intricacies of Jazz, Funk, Rock, and Latin/Samba music. Jazz Band is open to all students and does require an audition consisting of one scale, a short prepared musical exercise, and sight reading. The Jazz Band performs at the MMA's Dessert & Jazz, the MJS spring concert, the MJS Color Run, and other various events throughout the year.

The Makerspace is a drop in club. Come as you need throughout the year to make cool projects using the 3D printers, laser cutter, t-shirt press and general woodshop materials.

The Morning Hoops Program will provide middle school students with an engaging basketball program before the school day begins. This initiative will focus on physical activity, teamwork, and providing a positive start to the day. Our goal is to support a climate and culture that fosters a strong school community. In addition, this program will assist in rewarding students who demonstrate model behavior and academic achievement.

The goal of the Peer Leader program is to enhance leadership abilities and qualities. Peer Leaders will communicate with their buddies or peer groups in multiple outreaches throughout the year. Lead it!

This is a safe space to explore coding at all different levels and in all different languages. The robotics club will be competing in the Vex robotics competition and the coding club is working on several different coding competitions.
