To celebrate the success of Culture Club this year, the group walked to a local Thai restaurant, Palm Thai. We heard a presentation about Thai lifestyle, culture and, of course, food. There were special trays which showed common ingredients, like coconut milk, chili paste, and lime leaves. Students enjoyed five dishes ranging from Pad Thai to Sticky Rice with Mango. Some brave students even tried a raw spicy chili pepper! Spending time together while learning and exploring culture is what we have done all year and being able to do this together at a local Madison restaurant was a fantastic way to close out our year. Huge thanks to our special guest, Mr. Perrone, for joining our group as well as Palm Thai for being wonderful hosts who went above and beyond our expectations. Culture Club is ready for more activities next school year, including the launch of our first ever school-wide survey which will be implemented in the fall with the MJS One community for the 2025-2026 school year.
On Wednesday, our community gathered to celebrate the talent of our Music Department at the Spring Band Concert. Our students filled the evening with beautiful music that showcased their hard work and dedication. A huge thank you goes out to our Band Directors, Mr. Sabatino and Mr. Rossi. Their passion for music is infectious, and we're so grateful for the way they continue to inspire our students and foster their growth as musicians. We also extend our appreciation to all the families who consistently support their children's musical journeys. Your encouragement makes a world of difference. Congratulations to our students and directors on a fantastic year of music making!

In Madison, we utilize a 1:1 Chromebook model where all students (grades 6-12) receive a district owned Chromebook to utilize during the school day and at home. While there is no cost for the use of the Chromebook, it is important that Chromebooks be maintained and handled in a responsible way. As we continue to move through the school year, we wanted to utilize this time as a reminder for our students and families about the importance of handling Chromebooks with care to prevent damage to the device. The district has expectations and protocols that are listed on the district website that we continue to follow at the building level.
We would like to highlight the specific section regarding lost and damaged chromebooks as a reminder to all parents and guardians:
In the event a Chromebook, case, or charger is lost or damaged beyond repair and deemed to be intentional, excessive, neglectful or student misuse, parents/guardians are responsible for paying the cost of replacement equipment.
Costs:
Chromebook - $365.00
Charger - $47.00
Case - $20.00
Other - Will be quoted by the Tech Department
Note: Final assessment of damage and fines are determined by the Technology Department.
Students are also responsible for the care of any loaners they use. Damage to loaners is subject to the same rules as permanently assigned Chromebooks.
In case of theft, parents/guardians are required to file a formal police report with the Madison Police Department.
Below are the direct links from the district website that pertains to Chromebook care and protocols followed for lost/damaged Chromebooks.
