NYSTEA Student Conference

This past weekend Liverpool High School students involved in the arts department traveled to Callicoon NY to participate in the 26th annual NYSTEA Student Conference.

Over 50 schools and about 15 colleges participated, ranging from all the way up to Long Island! These students were Adalee Bernier, Sarah Bray,  Leila Briggs, Luciana Capeles, Janet Conklin, Connor DiMartino, Sharon Reynolds, and Rainz Scharoun.

During the weekend these students attended five different workshops of their choosing to learn new techniques for the theater world. The workshops ranged from Concentration and relaxation to dance classes to even getting creative and making costumes out of garbage bags! When not at their workshops the group had recreational time where they could visit the college's stations that were there, rock climbing, swimming, snow tubing, karaoke, and bowling just to name a few.

On Saturday night NYSTEA held a winter formal where all the students get dressed up and eat a nice dinner together after watching a performance that some of the other students put on. This group enjoyed their time there and the juniors can’ wait to return next year!
