On Sunday October 16, 2022 the Liverpool High School FAME group visited Beaver Lake to carve pumpkins to line their trails for the Enchanted Beaver Lake event.
The idea sparked when the LHS FAME group decided that they wanted to do a team bonding day. Ms. Harris, the supervisor of the group, reached out to Beaver Lake to set some things up. A week down the road there was a plan already set and stone to carve some gourd-geous pumpkins!
Believe it or not they were able to get lots of pumpkins carved within a two-hour window! There were students who were carving and scraping different designs on pumpkins as well as helping to gut the pumpkins. The volunteers were given stencils to tack onto the pumpkin in order to trace an outline, and then get to carving! Others were using special tools to scrape just the outside layer of the pumpkin in great detail. These designs tend to take more time and require a little more artistic skill.
You can really tell that these students love coming together to make an amazing event possible and be able to come to life for their community. Most of all, they love the group they are a part of.
There were over four hundred pumpkins to carve over the weekend and into the coming week for the trails of Enchanted Beaver Lake on October 20th through the 23rd. This event is currently sold out over a week in advance!
