On September 9th, the Yankees had their 75th annual old-timers day. Many people were in attendance such as Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Jorge Posada, Andy Pattitte, Joe Torre,  Ron Guidry, Tino Martinez, Paul O’Neill, and Willie Randolph. As well as the widows of Thurman Munson, Whitey Ford, Bobby Murcer, Billy Martin. Jeter gave a speech and said some moving words.

“As you guys all know I was born in New Jersey, I grew up in Kalamazoo, I live now down in Miami, But right here in front of you with you is where I really feel like I’m at home.”

Yankees fans went wild over Jeter’s words. And later Jeter also gave thanks to the Yankees for all the work they have done.

“I’m so gracious that I've had an opportunity to spend 23 years of professional baseball all with one organization.”

Unfortunately there was no Old-timers day game but the speech from Jeter was just as important to fans than a game. Jeter retired after the 2014 season still feels like he never left and is still very welcomed by fans.
