Buffalo Bills star cornerback Tre’Davious White is believed to have torn his achilles in Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins.

White was injured during the last minute of the third quarter while covering Tyreek Hill. He seemed shaken up and tried to stand up, but fell back to the ground. White was then carted off the field with his hand covering his face.

This is a heartbreak to Bills Mafia as White was limited to only six games last season with an ankle injury. He was looking forward to this season with great humor and competitiveness.

White is known as one of the NFL’s top cornerbacks the past few seasons. Buffalo Bills coach Sean McDermott was emotional the night of the injury. White was the first player drafted by the Bills while under McDermott as the head coach. McDermott held a press conference after the game. “Sometimes you wonder, right, why things like that happen twice to someone — I’m not saying what it is, what it isn’t,” McDermott says. “You just wonder why, because you watched him and how hard he’s worked to get back. I know he’s a man of faith. And I know how strong he is. And he will, he will rebound.”

White has twelve total tackles on the season. He is believed to have to miss the rest of the season with this injury.

Micah Hyde, a safety on the team gave his thoughts on the situation. “We were all there just trying to talk to him. And, you know, sometimes at that point there’s really nothing you can say,” Hyde says. “It’s kind of one of those situations that words can’t really help Tre’Davious at that point. He understands we’re there for him. We love him.”
