On the morning of October 30th, news broke that the Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Clippers completed a trade headlined by 10 time All-Star James Harden being acquired by the Clippers in a 3-team trade that included the Oklahoma City Thunder.

This trade pairs Harden with one of the best duos in the NBA in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, and also reunites him with Russell Westbrook; a close friend and former teammate on the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets.

The full trade details are listed below:

Clippers receive: James Harden, P.J. Tucker, Filip Petrusev

76ers receive: Marcus Morris, Robert Covington, Nicholas Batum, KJ Martin, a 2028 unprotected first round pick (via Clippers), two second round picks (via Clippers), a 2029 pick swap (originally Thunder’s pick), an additional first round pick (via Thunder), 2026 protected first round pick, 2024 and 2029 second-round picks (both via Clippers), 2026 protected first-round pick (via Thunder)

Thunder receive: 2027 first round pick swap (via Clippers)

Harden has recently been determined to play for an NBA Finals contender to get his first NBA championship over the past few seasons. He has requested trades multiple times and has been traded to the Brooklyn Nets from the Houston Rockets (2021), the 76ers from the Nets (2022), and now the Clippers from the 76ers (2023).

He was traded for the first time in his career in 2012 from the Thunder to the Rockets, primarily due to failed contract negotiations.

Harden has had a very good NBA career, being a one time NBA MVP, a three time NBA Scoring Title Champion, a six time All-NBA First Team Member, and a two time NBA Assists leader, among many other respectable accolades.
