American rapper and singer-songwriter Kanye West is in legal trouble for breaking Italian anti-terror laws.
In Venice, the law prohibits individuals from covering your face so people can be identifiable. West’s fashion choice, wearing a black facial covering, made it impossible for him to be seen.
The law was put in place in 2005 to combat domestic terrorism, only giving exceptions for religious reasons with authorizations before use of facial coverings. If you do not have authorization, you could be fined up to 2000 Euros.
It is unclear if West is being investigated currently for breaking this law during his time in Venice. West can be seen wearing facial coverings around Italian cities like Venice, Florence and more recently Milan. West was in Milan for Fashion Week with his wife Bianca Censori.
Police sources have said that they have been receiving complaints from witnesses to West wearing this facial covering and requested photographers to send them the images they got of West in the facial covering. West and his wife are under investigation and are to be contacted if any charges are to be brought to West.
West also was seen in the back of a water taxi in Venice exposing himself to the paparazzi with Bianca Censori, causing further investigation saying the driver of the taxi would be brought in for questioning. Police in Venice have said that it's a matter of “public decorum” and the photos taken of West and his Censori have been seen across the globe.
