My WHY:
About Me
Hello! My name is Suzanna Stephens, and I will be your child’s kindergarten teacher! This is my 6th year at East Elementary as well as my 23rd year teaching. I was an Army brat for a short time and landed in Sacramento, CA, before coming to Lubbock with my son, Hunter, and my husband, Bryon. We have been here for 9 years now. Hunter is 10 and going into fifth grade. We also have two rescue dogs, Lola and Jack, as well as a foster dog named Chara. They bring SO much joy to our home. I love all things kindergarten!! All the exploring, experimenting, and fun we get to have will help your child be successful. I cannot wait to help your little ones discover their love of reading and grow into excelling mathematicians and writers! These are some of my goals for this school year. A few other things we will be learning about this school year include 2D and 3D shapes, adding and subtracting within 10, how to be good citizens, word families, as well as working to expand reading vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. I enjoy traveling and helping local animal shelters.
