About Me

Welcome to East Elementary!! My name is Erika Newton, and I am so excited to be teaching Kindergarten. This is my first year at East as well as my first year teaching. Before coming to East, I was a special education teaching assistant for 15 years at the same school district I graduated from. I am married and have two great kids. My husband, Barry is a football and powerlifting coach at Lubbock Cooper Liberty. My daughter is a Junior at Texas Tech, and my son lives in Pueblo, Colorado on a ranch. They are my treasure!! I am super blessed to be a part of the Lubbock-Cooper family! I am excited about this upcoming year with my East family.
