My WHY:
I believe that all children have the ability to learn and should be challenged to push themselves daily to be educated and well prepared for college and life in general.
My goal is to build positive relationships with my students and encourage them to succeed in all areas. Teaching and motivating my students to set goals and encouraging them to reach those goals will establish a routine for each student to be successful.
About Me
This year I am thrilled to be joining the staff at East Elementary! Prior to East, I taught fifth grade RLA/SS at Central Elementary, sixth grade RLA, and second grade. This will be my fifth year teaching. I am from the small town of Canadian, TX. I graduated from Wayland Baptist University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
My husband Chad and I have three boys: Tyler, our oldest, is a graduate of Texas Tech University, Kaden is a graduate of Lubbock-Cooper High School class of 2023 and is currently attending Texas Tech; and Brayden will be attending Lubbock-Cooper Middle School as a sixth grader. This February, we also became grandparents to Conley Brooke Carr! While helping my husband on the family ranch, I was able to be at home and help raise our boys, as well as pursue my teaching certification. We lived and worked in Amarillo from 2016 until we moved to Lubbock. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and working out. I am so excited to be in Lubbock, and I am looking forward to an AMAZING year!
