My WHY:
I believe that there is a proper and correct way to do things and that all things should be done right. There is no point in skimping on details or cutting corners. I know that if you create structures and processes that actually work, I can trust the right results will follow.
My goal is to collaborate with parents and teachers to make sure that the individual needs of each student are being met and they are provided appropriate educational support throughout the day.
About Me
My name is Mandy Westbrook and I am the educational diagnostician for East Elementary. I am a graduate of Lubbock-Cooper High School and have been working in education for 22 years. For 18 years I taught our littlest pirates in the ECSE (early childhood special education) classroom and was lucky enough to call North and South Elementary home before moving to East when it opened in 2018. For the past 4 years I have been proudly serving our special education population as the diagnostician for the East Elementary campus.
I have been married to my husband, Adam, for 17 years and together we have two children. Adam has taught AG Science at Slaton ISD for the past 15 years. Tatum is currently in 10th grade at Lubbock-Cooper High School and is actively involved in FFA and 4H activities in addition to growing a cookie making business. Tucker is in 5th grade at East Elementary and loves all things football and baseball. Together we love to watch Texas Tech sporting events, raise and show livestock animals and cook out in our backyard.
