About Me

Greetings and welcome to East Elementary! My name is Candice Cross, and it is my honor to serve as the principal of our incredible school. I have been on campus since we opened our doors in the fall of 2018. Prior to moving to East Elementary, I was able to serve the families of Central Elementary for five years as the principal and assistant principal. This is my eleventh year as a Lubbock-Cooper Pirate and my seventeenth year in education. I love being part of the Lubbock-Cooper family and am grateful that my three children are growing up in this school district. I love how innovative and student-centered LCISD is and I appreciate the opportunities that are afforded to every student, every day. 

I have been married to my husband, Brady, for fifteen years. We have two daughters and a son who all attend Lubbock-Cooper ISD. Our oldest daughter, Emerson, is in seventh grade at Lubbock-Cooper Middle School. She is involved in dance and FFA and enjoys volunteering in our community as a member of the National Charity League. Our middle child, Addison, is in fifth grade at East Elementary. Addison enjoys gymnastics and playing the violin as part of our Suzuki Strings after-school program. Our youngest child, Mason, is in third grade at East Elementary. He loves playing baseball and is part of the Lubbock Elite travel team. We enjoy spending time at Mason's baseball tournaments with our family and friends, visiting our family in New Braunfels, and hunting and helping with cattle at the family farm.
