My WHY:
I believe in contributing actively and positively to my school community, as I believe that by sharing my skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm, I can help create a more engaging and supportive environment for both students and educators.
My goal this year is to initiate and contribute to our school family nights, demonstrating my dedication to making a meaningful impact beyond the classroom.
About Me
Hello! My name is Courtney Velasquez, and this is my second year of teaching. I am blessed to get the opportunity to teach at Lubbock- Cooper East again this year. East truly is the best place to be. I will be teaching 4th grade Science and Social Studies, the fun stuff! One of my goals is to show students that they are capable of anything they want to accomplish when they are confident in their abilities. Teaching 4th grade is rewarding because the students teach me almost as much as I teach them. Building relationships with my students is one of my top priorities!
I have lived in Lubbock since 2019 after transferring from Angelo State University, where I played collegiate golf. After an injury and surgery, I decided to leave San Angelo and move to Lubbock to finish my education at Texas Tech. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made! In my spare time, I love to read books and play in golf tournaments with my dad and boyfriend. My favorite time of year is fall because of NFL and sweatshirts!
