My WHY:
I believe that clarity is the driving force of making ample decisions. I strive to communicate to the fullest extent while seeking understanding from all by gathering lots of information.
My goal for this school year is to promote inclusion and advocate for my students by helping them communicate their wants and needs through various forms.
About Me
Hello and welcome! My name is Kyla Barron, and I am one of the Life Skills teachers at East Elementary. I will begin my 3rd year in education and my 3rd year here at East! In my student teaching experience, I was able to teach in multiple areas such as middle school behavior intervention, 3rd-grade math & science, and 1st grade. I am so blessed to have found my dream career working in Life Skills and finding the most inclusive and supportive home, East Elementary!
I am originally from La Vernia, Texas, which is near San Antonio, but I have enjoyed making myself a Lubbock native these last few years. I enjoy returning home to visit my family as often as possible, especially my brother Dylan, who inspired me to become a servant for special education. When I am not back home with my family, I typically spend lots of time with a book in one hand and my dog, Maddox, in the other. My aunt coaches for Texas Tech University, so I am often on campus with my friends for any game days! I also enjoy going on camping trips with my boyfriend (still with a book and my dog tagging along).
I am highly anticipating a great school year for 2023-2024. I cannot wait to help in the growth and progression of many while maximizing relationships to their fullest!
