My name is Aidan Shular Williams. I am 17 years old and I go to Giles High School. I have three half-sisters and a full brother. My oldest sibling is my half-sister Mikaela Lynn Blankenship. She is 22 years old. My full brother, Caleb Scott Williams, is 18 years old and goes to Concord. My other two half-sisters, Mia Rhea Garcia and Naomi Elise Garcia, are 3 years old and 2 years old.
My time at Giles High School was amazing. I got to do so much and meet a lot of friends. However, during my junior year COVID-19 hit. This changed a lot of things that I was used to. I had to do school online which was sad because I couldn’t see my friends or play sports. I thought all of that would change with the start of a new school year, but it didn’t. During my senior year, I did school online which was hard because not only did I rarely see my friends, it was also dificult to get motivated to do school work when you are home all day.
Even with COVID-19, I still had a fun time in high school and I'm upset it is already over. I am grateful for all the nice teachers I have had and the work they put in dealing with virtual students. I know it is difficult for them to keep up with so much and I am so thankful for that. After graduation, I will be continuing my education at New River Community College. I hope that my fellow graduates also have a plan and I hope they have a good life. Overall my high school experience was great and I would do it all again in a heartbeat.
