Hello, my name is Cassidy Raines. I’m a senior in Giles High School. I am currently about to attend school to become an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) and about to study for my EMT (Emergency Medical Technician).
Why do I think that being in the medical field is fun? I think being in the medical field is very fun, but also very challenging. One thing that anyone in the medical field can certainly agree on is that not every call is going to be fun or easy.
The truth of the matter is, some calls can be dangerous, insanely hard, and/or very challenging. Calls sometimes deal with people who are experiencing pain or losing someone, which can be difficult and sometimes challenging. The best advice is to be there for your patient, their families, and also for yourself and your personnel.
I’ve always enjoyed helping other people, whether it is during a call or in my personal life. I always thought it was kind of my calling to help others, no matter the circumstances. It helps me know that I can help others and still be proud of myself for making someone’s life easier.
Many people don’t really get the opportunity to do what I do, something I enjoy, for many different reasons. Still, they can make contributions on the “sidelines” to help all emergency personnel. They can always make donations, take CPR/First Aid classes, or simply move out of the way so emergency personnel can do their jobs.
