My name is Makayla McGuire and I have played ball since I was about four years old. Being on the field was my happy place. It made me feel so much better when I was having a bad day.

Every year somebody asks, ¨Makayla, you going to play softball?¨ and my answer is always ¨Well, duh!¨ It´s like why even ask, I´ve played this long why stop now?

I play just about every position, but pitcher has definitely got to be my favorite. I knew from the moment I first stepped on that mound that was what I wanted to do. I may not be the best at it, but I always try my best and work hard to succeed.

My dad has been my biggest supporter for softball. He has always helped me and guided me. Anytime I ask him for help, he never says no. Sometimes I wonder if he loves the game more than I do.
