Hello, I am Keegan Gordon. It’s hard to believe our senior year is here. It seems like just yesterday we entered high school as nervous and immature eight graders. So much has happened since then. We cruised through our freshman year with much more confidence. We settled in as sophomores and went through a worldwide pandemic in our Junior year. The pandemic continued and has caused our senior year to be unique, to say the least. Yet, here we are!
My favorite memories at GHS include spending time on the varsity football team this year. We didn’t have a great season in terms of wins and losses, but we bonded as a brotherhood and made memories I will never forget. The game with Fort Chiswell was a satisfying end to the season. I played the best game I had all season. Many of my teammates who had worked hard all year finally found the end zone. Most importantly, we played on our home field. This was the only game we got to play on it the entire year. What a way to end our last time as Spartans.
I am sure things will change as we graduate and head our different ways. That’s the one thing life has taught me. Time stops for nothing, not even a pandemic. Life is forever changing. However, I will always cherish the time I spent with my friends at GHS. They helped make me who I am today.
