Meet Me Makayla Burton

Senior Statement

I would describe myself as a shy and quiet person until you really get to know more about me. Usually, when I first meet someone I’m really shy around them until I open up a little and get to know more about them. I’m usually quiet when I’m working on something because I want to try and focus on it and get it done whenever I can. Once I get to know more about someone, I usually open up and share interests with them that they may like about me. I may like something about them when they tell me a little about themselves.

I’m grateful for all the people I have met in high school and how they have helped me through high school. I’m grateful for the friends I've made throughout high school and how they’ve helped me with homework if I needed help. I would return the favor if they needed help on anything. I’m grateful for the teachers I’ve had throughout high school and how they helped when I needed it on classwork during class. I’m also grateful for the wonderful parents I have at home who have helped me every step of the way throughout high school.

One of my favorite memories I’ve had in high school are the pep rallies, especially a couple of pep rallies that had me as a cheerleader. In one of our routines, we did the stunt of me doing a flip in the air. Another memory that I will remember is all of the artwork I have done throughout high school in my art class or my sketchbook.

A memory I would love to remember is the time I played volleyball in gym class with my classmates. Another memory I will always cherish are the spirit weeks we had when we dressed up for a week to cheer on the football players who had a big game coming up.
