My name is Marshall Adams and I am 18 years old and live in southern Virginia. I have always been outside playing sports or fishing in the mountains or on the New River.
Since the Houston Sign stealing scandal to win the 2017 World Series went public in 2020, they have been heading downhill. They lost their manager AJ Hinch and notable players such as George Springer. They also lost draft picks for the next coming years, giving them a low pool of prospects in the future.
After the scandal went public, they have been labeled the most hated team in MLB. Most teams have taken matters into their own hands, hitting the players when they bat. While some people say they are still a good team, they do not have any stand-out players after their cheating went public.
As someone who grew up being an Astros fan all my life, it saddens me to see where they are now, compared to how they dominated in years past. Everyone knows that what they did was very wrong and they deserved to be punished. Overall, their fan base fell dramatically, but there are still few die-hard fans that retain hope for their comeback.
