ACTIONABLE ITEMs
ALL MATH TEAM MEMBERS MUST REGISTER BY OCT 31st!!!
In order to prepare for the Monday, November 7th department-based in-service, please select which sessions you will be attending on this SPREADSHEET. Each member of the math team must select one session per half-hour from 1:30PM-3:30PM. See the exception below.
A handful of you (mostly new team members) have been assigned to attend the Albert.IO session from 1:30PM -2:30PM. Those team members will pick two session from the 2:30PM-3:30PM offerings.
If you have not been assigned Albert.IO and would like to join the hour-long session, please let me know asap so I can register you with the presenter from Albert.IO.
The offerings are:
DELTA MATH, Math Medic Lessons & Assessments, Quizizz, MathXL, & GoGuardian - Participants will be part of a Q&A session with lead teacher(s) who are fluent with the resource or platform.
Data Analysis from NJGPA, NJSLA, & PSAT - Participants will review data from the recent standardized tests and identify areas of strength and areas of need.
ECST Math Resource Organization Chart - Participants will assist to create a chart that organizes the online resources used by teachers in the math department with the relevance to the particular courses. This chart will be posted on the Math Department Schoology page.
High School Content from Open Middle Math (K through Calculus) - Participants will learn about the high school level content on the Open Middle Math website and suggested lesson placements.
Planning Math Madness - Arete Labs - Participants will review the math competition offered at Arete Labs for consideration for the ECST Math Madness 2023 competition.

"Give problems that students can't Google to find the answers." Students will Google the answer if the bottom of Bloom's Taxonomy triangle is used. A student cannot Google "CREATE". A followup discussion will occur about this student habit that is hanging over from the pandemic.
