NEXT MATH DEPARTMENT MEETING - WEDNESDAY, MARCH 17, 2021
Thank you all for your contributions.
A special thank you to the planning team: Alexandra Antoine, Zack Arenstein, Justin Bevilacqua, Leona Kumagai, Maria Moura, Luis Rodriguez, and Craig Zimmerman. THEY ARE AWESOME!
Form for competition teams of 4
The theme for the March Mathness competition on March 10th is ECST Number Trivia. Your help is needed! Please submit questions that can be used during the event.
ECST will observe the celebration of the International Day of Mathematics by participating in one or both suggested projects. Student submissions can be used as a project grade for Q3 - please communicate with your students if you decide to include either of these projects in your Q3 grading. More information will follow.
From Ms. Carbonell's email:
"As we begin to plan and prepare for Summer School, we wanted to check in with you and gather your thoughts and ideas."
Below you will find a link to a google survey.
Yes, it is getting closer to that time again! Please discuss with your colleagues about the possibility of using the Q2 Benchmarks (never administered this year) to the students in place of the Q3 assessments used in previous years. A discussion will take place at the next department meeting on March 17th.
Please comment on the Schoology discussion post if you are currently using Jamboard during instruction, have previously used Jamboard, or would like more information.
I ran out of steam...
The recurring items will continue in next week's newsletter. The honor system is in place for this week's "Did you read the newsletter?". I will make it up to all of you next week. Promise! There may even be a check for understanding. You will have to contain your excitement until March 8th.
