The goal of the ECST Mathematics Department for the 2024-2025 school year is to enhance student performance in the Modeling and Reasoning conceptual categories, as reflected in standardized assessments. This will be achieved by applying innovative strategies developed and refined through professional development sessions and collaborative efforts in professional learning communities.

In 2025, the theme is: Mathematics, Art, and Creativity. This poster, based on a Penrose Tiling, comes in two versions: full-color, or black-and-white one which you and your friends can color to add your creative touch and make it unique.

Common Assessments
9th Grade Teachers,
Monthly common assessments are realased once a month on IXL. The Algebra I and Geometry - February: Common Assessment will be released soon.
Please click the link below to begin administering our common NJSLA assessment to our 9th graders once a week. We will begin with NJSLA_ALGI_1.1 and NJSLA_GEO_1.1.

10th Grade Teachers
Continue administering the common monthly assessments that are labeled in IXL. The Geometry - February: Common Assessment will be released soon.
Please continue to administer the Sophomore NJGPA Readiness Assessments as you find time.
11th Grade Teachers
Students will continue to take our weekly NJGPA readiness assessments. Please make sure you are following the mapping guide that we have created. Link is below.

PROFESSIONAL/INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES WORTH SHARING
Yes, we will be celebrating International Day of Mathematics at a later date due to the NJGPA testing which occurs from March 14-16. In the meantime, if your students are not testing on these days, you may want to take advantage of some of these activities.
Progress reports are being released soon and the end of the 3rd marking period is April 4th. If you have a student who is in danger of failing for the year and you have not had a parent conference as of today, CONTACT THE PARENT/GUARDIAN IMMEDIATELY! This contact should also involve a response (email/phone/in-person) from the parent. If there is difficulty in establishing contact, reach out to the guidance counselor for assistance.
