We are in the process of planning the summer 2023 PD/PLC sessions. This will be the 3rd year of a concentration of PD/PLC opportunities that take place during July. A lot of great ideas have already been shared, but I want to make sure that your requests are included. I also want to gather information about who may be interested in presenting.
Please complete this short form by Tuesday, June 13 at 3:00PM. https://forms.gle/uq3hSHZaJV3iMEc56

A reminder that the ECST Mathematics Curricula for Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 is aligned to the Illustrative Mathematics Curricula. The daily lessons need to start with the IM lessons. As stated in the past, I have given professional latitude for you to insert other activities where you deem appropriate as you differentiate for the students you teach each year. From visiting classrooms and reviewing lesson plans, I have noticed that vice-versa has been occurring - daily lessons have been starting with other curricula and the IM activities have been sprinkled into the plans sporadically. I am gently reminding you about the order of your lesson planning for the future. As we close out this school year and consider planning for the summer, please let me know if you need a refresher on the components of the IM curricula. I will be happy to set up PD for the summer.
PROFESSIONAL/INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES WORTH SHARING
Some of you may remember Sara VenDerWerf from the "green sheets" idea that we discussed some time ago. This recent article dives into suggestions for support math classes (at ECST we call them academic support classes). It is a long article, but definitely worth your time, in my opinion. She even suggests that you skip to the orange text for a shorter version. Call me or a colleague in the math department if you would like to discuss the suggestion.
