Add a book to your classes
At the start of the school year, it is important for teachers to get classes set up and ready to go, including adding a book to each class. Without adding a book, errors will occur and students will not have access to their content. This video walks you through how to add a book.
Contacting Support
The start of the new school year also means new teachers and new students logging in to their Big Ideas accounts. If you or your teachers have any technical questions or are in need of technical assistance, especially getting access to online accounts, you can use this link to submit a tech support ticket. This is the fastest way to get our tech team the information they need to help resolve any issues you are having.
Below are some tools and resources that are available in the Big Ideas online platform to help with test prep:
Customized Assessments and Practice: The Big Ideas online platform allows teachers to create customized assignments and select items based on specific standards.
Sharpen Skills with Skills Trainer: If your teachers are looking for skills practice without having to create and assign, then check out our Skills Trainer. With access to practice problems by topic in grades K-12, Skills trainer provides extra practice problems for students. Teachers can quickly view student results in their Reports, and students can watch stepped-out examples and videos for problems they are struggling with.
Student Assignment Reports: Every student has access to student reports for assignments they take online. In this report they will find direct links to both video tutorials and Skills Trainer activities where they can practice the concepts on which they need help.
Resources: If you are looking for extra practice or review you can find options under the Resources tab on the Big Ideas platform such as, Resources by Chapter (Reteach, Extra Practice, and Enrichment and Extension pages), Skills Review Handbook, the Student Journal (grades 6-8), and the Practice Workbook and Test Prep (Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2).
Family Support: Big Ideas Learning understands the importance of including families in the learning process. Every chapter has a family letter to keep supportive adults up to date on what their student is learning. These letters also incorporate ideas for how they can support learners as they interact with new math concepts.
