What behaviours or qualities attract people the most?
What behaviours or qualities repel people the most?
Read 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 discuss the qualities that would attract and repel people.
Slide the sentences into the correct section of the Attracting Friends or Repelling Friends T-Chart in Seesaw.
Remember the special math words that we heard about when talking about fractions. One word is used to talk about how many parts the whole shape (or cake) is divided into - that is called the denominator. Another word is used to talk about how many parts we have coloured in (or have eaten) - that is called the numerator. Watch these two short videos just to help you fix this idea in your mind.
Stop this video after 3.30 minutes.
Write a true number sentence to match each slide. For example, 3/4 > 3/6. Then take a picture of all your number sentences and upload it to Seesaw.
Read the instructions at the top of each of these worksheets.
Think of what you SEE in the picture.
What do you THINK about when you look at the picture?
What do you WONDER about when you look at this picture?
Turn and talk about this with a talking partner.
Discuss with your class.
Scroll through each picture and think about the symbols you see!
For teacher use!
Click through the following slides and see how some more symbols have been used. Each state in Australia has its own State flag, and State animals and plants.
From time to time, people have suggested that Australia should have a new flag that represents Aboriginals as well as other Australians, and that maybe it does not need to have the British flag as part of it. A number of years ago, an Australian artist by the name of Ken Done made a series of designs that he thought might be good alternatives to our current Australian flag.
Take a look at some of Ken Done's designs below in the first group of slides. The second set of slides shows some other people's ideas. Think about the symbols and the colours that have been used and why they have been used.
You could take a vote amongst your friends or classmates to see which of these designs you think is the best.
ASSESSMENT: Create an alternative Australian flag with symbols that adequately reflect Australia. Explain reasons behind choice of colours and symbols.
We have discussed how different symbols are used to remind us of different events. We also have different traditions or celebrations that are important to us and remind us of different parts of our lives.
Brainstorm or make a mind map of different celebrations that you know of, and think about the reasons for them. See if you can group the celebrations into different categories according to why we have the different celebrations.

You will be working over the next few weeks to research your celebration.
Go to the document in Seesaw that says "Celebrations Choice" and make a list of your 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th choices.
Your teacher will tell you which celebration you will be researching next week.
