Google Meet
Overview
Open the Doors to Your Classroom!
Google Meet is Google's online video conferencing tool and CCPS video conferencing platform for students for the 2020-2021 school year.
You are able to connect with up to 250 unique Google account users through Meet.
The application needs to use your computer's camera and microphone so you can start the video call.
Through a video call, you and/or other recipients of the call are also able to share your computer screen with one another!
It's recommended to establish ground rules with your students before using any video conferencing tool. Click here for a good example.
Google Meet has many educational impacts in the classroom. Teachers can:
Hold impromptu meetings
Provide/attend virtual trainings
Take the class on a virtual field trip with a guest speaker
Facilitate open discussion and collaboration with students when working in groups.
Organize a virutal book club.
Create "office hours" for your class from home and much more!
