Extensions - What Are They?

Extensions are small pieces of software that can be installed to a browser, like Chrome or Chromium Edge, that enhance the functionality of a user's experience on the web.  

What Extensions Can I Install?

Add-Ons - What Are They?

Add-Ons are customized extensions that are specific to G Suite productivity applications, such as Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets! 

What Add-Ons Can I Install?

Approved add-ons are white-listed and available for download by teachers and staff in the G Suite Marketplace, which can easily be installed within the individual Google applications themselves.  Simply go to an application (ie. Google Docs), select the Add-Ons menu in the toolbar and click "Get Add-Ons".  A pop-up screen for the G Suite Marketplace will appear and users are able to search for approved add-ons and install.  Click here to see a comprehensive list of approved add-ons with descriptions and links for each.  Here are a few of the most popular add-ons:

Third Party Applications -What Are They?

Many third party applications integrate with Google Classroom. This means you can pull your rosters from Google Classroom into other apps in order to assign content, or you can use an app to assign content directly inside of Google Classroom. This is a great way to get digital curriculum in the hands of students!

What Applications Can I Use?

Any application that has already been approved should be able to integrate with Google Classroom. A list of popular third party applications that have an integration with Google Classroom can be found by clicking here. Here are a few of the most popular apps that have an integration.
