Meet Link in Google Classroom

A Google Classroom Meet link can be auto-generated for your class by selecting the option in the classroom banner (See "Generate Meet Link" GIF).

Using this Meet link disables the students from entering before the teacher and, assuming the teacher is the last to leave, prohibiting them from rejoining.

❗If the class is shared with co-teachers, the first teacher to click the link will become the "owner" of the link and will therefore be the owner of any Meet recordings that occur using that link - even if this teacher isn't the one who presses "Record" or if the teacher isn't the owner of the Google Classroom.

The "owner" of the Meet recordings will have edit rights and the Meet recordings will live in that individual's Google Drive.

The other teachers of the Google Classroom will have the video in their "Shared with Me" section of Google Drive and will have only view rights to the recordings.

⭐If you want to ensure that the primary teacher of the class will also be the owner of all Meet Recordings and have them live in his/her Google Drive, then the primary teacher should "Regenerate" the Meet link in the classroom settings, then immediately click the link in the banner and join the meeting with no one present. From that point forward, the teacher is the owner of that link and any associated recordings. (See "Regenerate Meet Link" GIF).
