Google offers a free course for educators to learn the many features of Google tools and their use in the classroom. Teachers may take either the Certified Educator Level 1 training course or the Certified Educator Level 2 training course to get certified.

Educators may become "officially" certified by taking a certification exam to demonstrate proficiency in using the tools, either at the completion of the online course or once they feel adept at their use. The personal cost for taking the Level 1 exam is $10 and for the Level 2 exam is $25.
