Teacher Pages

The Clever Portal can be your one-stop shop, providing easy access and single sign-on for all your digital resources.

Teacher Pages are customized sections of the Clever Portal. Pages are shown as cards that house any digital resources that teachers wish their students to access.

These pages can be easily customized by the teacher with assignments, cloud-hosted files, links and other resources that are specific to just their students, without cluttering the district portal for anyone else.

Each teacher page shows how many students have access to the page and how many resources are house on that page.

Students will see any Teacher Pages that have been shared with them at the top of their Clever Portal.

Adding Teacher Pages

Once logged into Clever, you land on your "Homeroom" page, which displays any teacher pages that are linked to you. Clever, by default, creates a single teacher page for you. You can add more to organize digital resources for different classes or students.

Once created, teachers can personalize the page by changing the logo, name, and banner color.

"Favoriting" Applications

Users in Clever can personalize their home page by "favoriting" their frequently used applications.

Once an app has been "favorited", the Clever user can re-arrange the apps to meet his/her organizational needs.

Installing Applications

Teachers can search and install apps from the Clever Library and can then be added to their teacher pages.

When an app is installed, the application will automatically create student accounts for the teacher. This is a huge time saver!

Teachers can also add applications directly to teacher pages. Simply click on a teacher page, select the +Add icon at the bottom of the page, and select "App". Find the application you wish to install to the page!

Adding Links

While Clever is a great application that auto-generates student accounts in many applications, it can also be used to "house" frequently used sites/links.

Teachers can even add links to Microsoft and/or Google documents and files!

Adding Categories to Teacher Pages

Teachers have the ability to further organize teacher pages by adding categories.

Categories help divide digital resources into groups, whether it be by type, frequency of use, or even date!

Sharing Teacher Pages To Students

Once a teacher page is created with resources and links ready to go, the next thing to do is share the page with students!

Pages can be shared with only you, select classes, or with all the students you teach.

Once shared, students will see your teacher page at the top of their Clever portal upon logging in.

Resources can still be added to teacher pages that have been shared, and students automatically get access to them!

Helping A Student

Let's be honest, when working with digital resources it can be very frustrating when a student has trouble logging-in or cannot remember his or her credentials. Clever helps with this process!

Teachers are able to generate a unique, one-time use backup code that allows students to log into their accounts without needing to know their passwords. These codes are six digits long and will expire 20 minutes after they are generated.

Teachers can get backup codes three different ways:

  • From the sidebar and the "Help A Student" button

  • From the search bar

  • From your teacher page

The directions below show the steps by using the "Help a Student button"

Step 1: Log into Clever and on the right side, select the "Help a Student" button

This is an image of the "Help a student" button in Clever.

Step 2: Choose the student you wish to generate a back-up code for from the drop-down menu

This is a screenshot of the message that appears when teachers click the "Help a student" button. The message says "Which student needs help" and there is a search/dropdown bar with two random example students showing.

Step 3: A back-up code has been generated! Have your student follow the directions to use the back-up code.

This is a screenshot of an example of directions that appear when a student is selected to be helped in Clever. The directions say: "Backup code for Sarah Smithy. 1. On Sarah's device, navigate to: clever.com/in/demo/ 2. Click on Get help signing in! 3. Choose Log in with Backup Code 4. Enter the code below (id52ais). There is also a button that says "Show student's badge".
