Abstract
WHICH GLOVES WORK THE BEST?
In this experiment, I tested which gloves work the best. I picked which football gloves work the best because I enjoy football. Football gloves are supposed to keep the football onto your hand without it falling to decrease the chances of fumbles. Also, it may even keep your hand warm. I believe that the Nike football will work the best.
In my experiment, what I did was I put a football onto my hand and when it drops I measure the angle. I tested Nike football gloves, walmart football gloves and regular winter gloves. I used a protractor to measure the degrees. Once the football dropped, I did it 3 times for each glove. Every time I dropped the football, I recorded the measurement. I tried different places. Everytime, I made sure my hand was at the same position it was last time. 3 balls were dropped each glove.
During my experiment, I tried 3 different types of climate and situations. I wetted the gloves, which made an obvious difference. I went outside and tested the gloves, not really a difference, and finally, I stayed inside and dropped the football. The Nike football worked the best. The best results for the outside was 15 degrees, the inside was 14 degrees and the wetted gloves, 12 degrees. There was no difference. All three of these experiments varied.
In conclusion, I learned that in this experiment, that not all football gloves are the same. Some are sticky, some aren’t. My hypothesis was correct, I thought that the NIke Gloves will work the best, and they did. The average for the inside, outside and the wetted gloves 14, 15, and 12. During my experiment, I could have made a better tool that will measure the degrees correctly. I could improve the experiment by making sure everything was balanced and is in the correct positions.
