Turning milk into plastic

Question:

Does turning milk into plastic really work? Does turning heavy cream into plastic work?

Hypothesis:

I believe by adding vinegar it will separate the fat from the milk which will form a casein, a protein found in milk which clumps together and can form into various shapes and sizes.

Procedure:

Production of Casein for Plastic Testing

1. Prepare 1 cup of milk, large mug containing 4 teaspoons of white vinegar, small strainer

2. Heat milk in a pot to an almost boil

3. remove milk from stove and pour into mug containing vinegar

4. Stir slowly until curds are formed

5. Slowly pour liquid and curds through a small strainer and separate curds from liquid

6. Collect all curds and squeeze together on a paper towel to remove remaining liquid

7. After all liquid has been removed and formed into a ball

8. Measure and weigh ball and log results

9. After 24 hours of drying measure and weigh again and log results

10. Repeat testing the same way for each mll to be tested

Production of Casein For Paint and Glue

1. Repeat steps 1-5 above

2. Place curds into a bowl and add 3-4 teaspoons of Milk of Magnesia stir until paste forms

3. Split paste into 2 equal parts and put them into 2 separate small containers

4. In one of the containers add 5 drops of food color and mix until color is even

5. You now have a container of glue and a container of paint to be used for testing

6. Repeat testing the same ay for each milk to be tested

I will then repeat this experiment, but instead using heavy cream to see if a bigger ball can be formed.
