What Swim Suit is Fastest

Question: What type of swim suit is fastest drag suit, a new suit, and a fast skin.

Hypothesis: I think that the fast skin will be the fastest because of the material it is made of.

Procedure:

1. Get all three suits

2. Go to the pool

3.Get a stop watch

4.Swim a 50 meter race

5. Write down time

6. Repeat step 4 in each suit

7.Repeat several times for each suit

Conclusion: In conclusion I found out that the drag suit was the slowest because it is old and stretched out which created drag therefore made my swim slower. The average was 19.04. The practice suit was in the middle because it is not stretched out but it is not super tight which makes it could for practice. The average was 18.14. The fastskin was the fastest because of the material it is made of it is super tight and designed after a sharks skin which makes it fast. The average was 16.75. My hypothesis was correct because I thought the fast skin would be the fastest and it was.

For my experiment, I was curious to find out which suit is the fastest. I looked at 3 types of swimsuits. The suits I looked at were a drag suit, a new practice suit, and a fastskin, competition suit. A drag suit is a suit that is old and stretched out, this will create drag. A new suit is simply a suit that I just bought. A fastskin (competition) suit is very tight, and creates very little drag. I think the fastest suit will be the fast skin because of the materials it is made of. I picked this topic because I love to swim.

To start off my experiment I had to get my three suits. Secondly, I had my mom take me to the pool. Next I got a stopwatch. I swam 25 meters in each suit while my coach wrote down my times. Each suit was tested three times.

For my experiment I found out that between all three suits, the fastskin, the practice, and the drag suit, that the fastskin was the fastest. I tested each suits three times. For the drag suit my first time was 18.84, my second time was 18.82, and my third time was 19.45 for an average of 19.04. For my pracond time was 16.89, and my third time was 17.12 for an average of 16.75.

In conclusion, I found out that my hypothesis was correct because the fastskin was the fastest, and that is what I predicted. Some errors that I might have had were that my coach might not have been accurate when he hit the stopwatch. I think it was accurate though, due to his experience with timing other swimmers in practices and meets. Another reason I felt that this experiment was accurate is because I tested each suit three times. I found out that the drag suit was the slowest, the practice suit was in the middle, and the fastskin was the fastest.
