Expansion to the Maximum

The Adult Literacy Services Department has expanded to the max. We can not accept more tutors from the community. All non-AmeriCorps members volunteering in this community seem to be turned off from the security check process, so students who have requested a tutor will remain on a waiting list until AmeriCorps members want to give more of their time. My morning English classes have expanded too. We've run out of chairs for students, so some students stand or sit on the floor. My Wednesday evening English & Math class have become popular amongst high school students and have filled to capacity as well. My GED Subject classes, however, remain unpopular. Many students stated their interest and registered but remain absent from the actual class. The Job Readiness Workshops have been cancelled for the year, because students do not preregister. I have proposed the idea of a Computer Literacy workshop or course, but it is still up for debate. I will be ending my pen pal program this December with a holiday party. I am thinking about holding enrollment days in January. I think I will need to survey my students sometime in December to determine their needs and wants. I want to meet the demand from this community.
