I began my journey as the inaugural Health Literacy & Dental Medicine Librarian in May 2022. In this inaugural position, I primarily help the School of Dental Medicine Levy Library build capacity in supporting the oral health-related information needs of students, staff, faculty, clinicians, researchers, patients, and neighbors. I host various events at the library including for Health Literacy Month. I partner with campus and community partners including the Penn Medicine Patient & Family Education Committee, the Philadelphia Community Alliance Against COVID-19 (Philly CEAL), in the area of health literacy, the skills we use to find and understand information in order to make health-related decisions. CareQuest Institute for Oral Health published a blog post about me and the Health Literacy Study Club in November 2023.
