Professional Development
My initial professional development experiences during my residency focused on academic libraries and technology.
An Investigation into the Changing Roles of Academic Librarians:
In November 2015, I interviewed the Director of the Biomedical Library to get to know her and her vision for academic librarianship. I submitted this Prezi for Wiley Scholarship for Early Career Librarians.
Data Visualization:
During the first half of my residency, I explored data visualization technology by reading scholarly and vendor literature, looking at academic library websites, and visiting high-tech spaces. Through the knowledge I gained, I made recommendations on data visualization technologies and spaces that could be incorporated in the Biotech Commons renovation plan.
WordCampUS 2015:
These are my notes from a conference sponsored by WordPress in December 2015. This was the 1st conference attended during my residency.
Interest Groups:
Penn Libraries has many interest groups that are dedicated to the task of learning via experience and discussion. These are not action or service-oriented groups. I participated in the following interest groups within Penn Libraries:
Data Services Interest Group
Project Management Learning Group
Microsoft Office 365 Apps Learning Group
Reference Services Interest Group
