VirtIO Drivers

QEMU guest VM uses a different form of I/O interaction instead of hardware I/O. Although QEMU allows hardware I/O emulation (e.g. SATA, IDE, SCSI, etc.), the performance can be very slow. If you're using the guest VM like a normal desktop computer, you want to take advantage its potentials over its virtualization I/O.

Both Windows and Linux have their respective I/O drivers, called VirtIO driver.

Once you're ready, select the operating system type you want to begin VirtIO installation.
