Dangling Modifiers Mistake

This mistake occurs when a word/phrase that describes the subject is wrongly applied due to the sentence structure. Normally, this occurs when we create the clauses independently without doing a check.

Things to Watch Out

Watch for comma after writing a modifier, you should always follow up with the corresponding subject after the it.

CASE I

Flashing lightning and thunder, the little bunny struggled to the storm.

the bunny, does not flash and creates thunder.
Correct Sentence: Flashing lightning and thunder, the storm raged as the bunny struggled.

CASE II

Running around on his little hamster wheel, Albert watched his pet exercise.

Albert doesn't run around his little hamster wheel.
Correct Sentence: Running around his little hamster wheel, the critter exercised while Albert watched.
