Explore two aspects of CAT analysis by referring to Alpha, Beta, Omega, Gamma, Sigma article by Niall Stewart
Essay title: Stereotypes: Analysis of male identity in Stewart's article
In Stewart’s article Alpha, Beta, Omega, Gamma, Sigma, I explored tone and choices. The choices reflects modern debates about masculinity and how men are often pressured to fit into rigid identity types. The tone includes both men questioning these roles and readers interested in gender norms. Stewart uses clear language and familiar labels to challenge stereotypes and invite reflection on male identity.
Although I demonstrated a solid understanding of CAT analysis in my writing, I see areas where I can still grow. One key improvement would be deepening my analysis of choice, especially by connecting the article more clearly to broader social or historical movements. I also want to be more specific when identifying the tone, moving beyond general terms and thinking more critically about who the author is really targeting and why. Strengthening these areas will help me create more precise and insightful responses in future analytical writing.
